Frequently asked questions
What is a Peppol ID? ▾
A Peppol Participant ID uniquely identifies an organisation on the Peppol network (scheme + value, e.g. iso6523-actorid-upis::0208:0123456789). Access Points use it to route e-invoices to the right recipient.
How do I find a company’s Peppol ID? ▾
Ask your trading partner, check their invoice footer, or search the OpenPeppol Directory (this tool). Common IDs are based on VAT or company numbers (Swiss UID, Belgian enterprise number, German USt-IdNr, etc.).
Can I check if a Belgian company is on Peppol? ▾
Yes. Enter their enterprise number (often 10 digits starting with 0) or company name. Belgium’s B2B e-invoicing rules make Peppol capacity especially important for VAT-registered businesses.
Does “not found” mean they cannot receive Peppol invoices? ▾
Not necessarily. The public directory only lists participants that Access Points choose to publish. Some network participants are not listed. Always confirm with the partner if critical.
How do I get my own Peppol ID with tapr.ch? ▾
Sign up for a free tapr.ch plan, complete KYC where required, and register your company identifier. Grynn GmbH is a certified Swiss Peppol Access Point and can issue/register your Participant ID on the network.
Which identifier formats are supported for lookup? ▾
You can paste a full Peppol ID, scheme:value (e.g. 0208:0123456789), Swiss UID (CHE-…), Belgian enterprise numbers, German DE VAT, Austrian ATU VAT, or free-text company names. See examples on this page.
